Can you imagine Todd McClelland smiling through the ceremony after the game if the Oilers get crushed by the Canucks? I'd watch that.

Can someone explain to me who this Tryamkin guy is and why I should care about him? I'm not even being sarcastic I just have heard so much about him but he came out of nowhere.

Ya, I understand that they want the national attention but really dumb move to plan it post game, it should be for the local fans and if the team continues to play the way the have recently, I can't see fans, players etc being too stoked to sit through an hour of memories following a loss.

Is there a window in your mom's basement? It's a nice day. You should go for a long walk.

Yep, he came out of Yekaterinburg after the KHL playoffs finished.

Tryamkin was a third-round pick in 2014 and he's huge—6'7".

For all the high expectations that accompany a defenseman who's built like Chara, he has done really well so far since he got here. Plays good D and adds a much-needed physical presence to the Vancouver blue line. He's fun to watch!

On that play the other night where the puck went through him only to get scored on I thought he had good position not to mention a big man like that he was very mobile to get back in the play. I was very impressed even though we got scored on.

5-2 Oilers, with Yakupov getting all 5 goals, convincing Chiarelli to offer him a substantial 7 year contract extension.

The chances of him getting 5 goals are about the same as him back checking.

With the way some of these threads have gone this year, you would've thought it was summer/offseason

A 21 year old rookie D-man with size like John Scott but a much, much better skater. Third round draft choice by the Canucks in 2014. There was plenty of hype surrounding his signing and potential arrival from the KHL this season, because of his size and the obvious weakness of the Canucks blueline corps. But he's exceeded most expectations. He's already tossing some of the league's power forwards around like they're toys, and says he wants to focus on getting stronger over the off-season.
